Healthureum is pioneering a decentralized medical network

Even since the decentralization of currency through Bitcoin, there has been a need to create decentralized networks across all the industries. The medical industry hasn't been spared from the ‘decentralization rush', and Healthureum has taken it upon itself to create a decentralized network. Before we take a look at how Healthureum is pioneering a decentralized medical network, let's first understand what a decentralized network is.
What is a decentralized network?
Decentralization refers to the elimination of a single source as a storage facility for data. This comes with a lot of advantages. For example, there is no weak point that a hacker can target and exploit in order to gain access to the data stored on the network. Secondly, the data stored on the network cannot be altered or corrupted. Decentralized networks promote data transparency.
What is Healthureum doing to pioneer decentralization of medical network?
Healthureum's path to pioneering a decentralized medical network is not an easy one. It will be met with challenges that it will have to overcome. There will be unexpected obstacles, but they also need to be conquered and removed. In the meantime, Healthureum is doing the following work in order to pioneer the decentralization of a medical network:
Data standardization – a truly decentralized network begins with the standardization of medical records and data. Medical data comes from different sources and files. If this data is not standardized, it will be difficult for it to be shared among several medical practitioners. At the end of the day, the idea is to allow doctors and patients to share data in a manner that is efficient and secure.
Better management of data – data is not captured effectively when patients visit doctors. Healthureum will work to come up with ideas that will make the capturing of this data effective. This will allow the data to be shared amongst healthcare practitioners and hence exist on a blockchain network.
Integrating data into several healthcare facilities – Healthureum aims to share the standardized data amongst clinics, doctors, nursing homes, laboratories, etc. This ensures that in the case of emergency (or not), patient data can be shared amongst these departments securely.
Improving efficiency – by using EHR records, Healthureum creates a blockchain system that it can update regularly, reduce errors, and improve patient satisfaction.
Healthureum tokens – users will only be granted access to the blockchain network after they have bought a token. Users will then be able to upload their data to the network in a systematic and friendly manner. Users will be guaranteed of their data's integrity and they will be able to access it in real time from any location the world.
Various options - a user registered on the Healthureum platform has various options to choose from. These options a second opinion. These options are not scrutinized by anyone as the patient's activity on the platform remains unknown.
Information sharing – the Healthureum platform allows patients to have online consultations with their doctors. Also importantly, patients are able to share their treatment plans and any other relevant information on the network. Healthcare professionals on the platform can give a second opinion to the patient. Information is easily shared on the platform.
New APIs to be developed – Healthureum will develop APIs that allows healthcare practitioners to have access to a patient's data which they can use to develop custom treatment plans for patients.
Hassle free referrals – in general, you need to your general healthcare practitioner to refer you to see a specialist. This becomes complicated if there isn't any general practitioner to refer you. However, on the Healthureum platform, you can easily be referred to a specialist without any hassles.
Qualified referrals – the Healthureum platform only has space for genuine and qualified practitioners. If you are being referred to a specialist, you are assured that you are seeing a qualified specialist who has been vetted through a rigorous process.
Pay using Healthureum tokens – patients on the blockchain network can also visit some designated healthcare facilities and pay using Healthureum tokens. As always, the labs and facilities that the Healthureum deals with are vetted using stringent conditions.
The way forward
Healthureum is not stopping on its quest to bring a truly decentralized platform to the masses. This is important to them because it saves lives and restores confidence in the healthcare industry. Besides all this, our health is the most important thing because, without it, we wouldn't be alive.
